Technical Analysis

All paddlers, regardless of their level, need technical feedback and coaching to help them optimize their stroke. Technical mastery is, in my opinion, key to success.

Throughout my athletic career and later as a coach for the Australian national team, technique has been at the core of my approach. Whether you are a beginner or a professional athlete, I can identify the technical aspects that will help you achieve your sports goals!

How does online technical coaching work?

All you'll need to provide me is two videos of you paddling. Ideally a latteral view and a frontal or dorsal view. If you can provide videos from the three angles, even better.

Once the videos are uploaded, you'll receive a detailled analysis of your paddling technique, breaking down each aspect of your stroke, as well as the solutions and drills to change what has to be. A 30' call or video-call will then allow you to clarify any uncertain points and ask all the necessary questions.

Importance of a good technique

Kayaking and other paddle sports are technically extremely complex and require a deep specific knowledge.

Proper technique enables optimal efficiency by maximizing propulsion with minimal effort. This not only allows you to cover longer distances with less fatigue but also to maintain a higher speed while exerting the same effort, particularly by engaging stronger muscle groups and avoiding unnecessary movements.

Poorly executed repetitive movements can place excessive strain on muscles, joints, and tendons, increasing the risk of tendinitis, lower back pain, neck pain, or other musculoskeletal injuries.

Working with a coach will help you identify and correct technical mistakes, allowing you to adopt movements that suit your physical specifics. Not only will this help you avoid injuries, but it will also make your practice more enjoyable while enabling you to go faster.
